A recording artist, songwriter and worship leader, Laura Hackett Park currently resides in Kansas City, MO with her husband and fellow songwriter, Jonas Park, and their two small children. She writes and leads worship songs for congregations across the world and has led weekly at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City since 2003; to date, she has led close to 10,000 hours of live worship sets.
From childhood, Laura has been inspired to sing and write music out of her conversations with the Lord Jesus. In her words,“When I feel the Holy Spirit prompt me with a certain phrase or theme” she says, “then I write a lot about it because it is my way of processing the revelation. The music keeps me in touch with my emotions, the lyrics with my mind and thoughts, and my voice keeps me in touch with my whole person.”
Authentic expression is of the utmost importance to Laura as she usually writes all of her own music, but the last few years she has enjoyed co-writing with a dynamic songwriting community led by her husband, Jonas. As a result of the rich songs written together in community, Jonas and Laura have launched a small independent label called, Arrowhead Music.
The new single from Laura Hackett Park, “Artist,”; is the first release of Arrowhead Music and was co-written at one of their songwriting camps held in Kansas City. She hopes this single will open up a way for many more of the songs from these camps to be recorded and released by their community of artists and musicians. Currently in its last stages of production with producers Dave Wilton (Loud Harp/Jason Upton) and Josh Garrels, Laura’s single will prepare the way for her upcoming full-length album, to be released in Summer 2019.
With a vibrant catalog of more personal songs, Laura has had the experience and pleasure of working with talented musicians and producers from around the world. Most notably, she has worked with the Grammy and Dove awarded producer, Brown Bannister (MercyMe, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mandisa) and Ben Shive (Brandon Heath, Andrew Peterson) on her last record “Love Will Have Its Day” in 2014. Laura has led worship and released songs on 7 of the last Onething Live albums recorded at a yearly gathering of 20,000+ young adults hosted by IHOPKC. Her song “You Satisfy My Soul,” which released on a Onething Live Album in 2013 and as a single, is her most popular song to date with over 961K+ Spotify streams.
Laura earned a Bachelors degree in Music Theory from University of Missouri- Kansas City’s Conservatory in 2008 and has taught Vocal Performance and Prophetic Musicianship for multiple years at the Forerunner Music Academy, the International House of Prayer school of ministry. Her passion for worship, music and songwriting comes from her desire to minister first to her Lord Jesus Christ, and out of that place to draw others closer in relationship and conversation with Him.
